Chris Tandoc

Starting martial arts at the age of 6, Chris became well involved in Karate, Aikido during his younger years and then started training Muay Thai in 2002 at Fairtex in San Franciso under his teacher Enn Fairtex. When an opportunity came to help out and teach with his good friend Evan who opened up True Fight Club in Hayward CA, Chris became one of the coaches to teach regular classes and help with the fighters training. He has done a few smokers at the time. In 2005 he started training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu after doing a few Jiu Jitsu classes at Fairtex. Wanting to learn more of the traditional art of Jiu Jitsu, he trained in Berkeley under Carlos Sapao and has followed his teaching where he went and now is a brown belt under Carlos. He did one competition event at Team Alpha Males Jiu Jitsu event where it was team invites only. Chris has also have extensive training in boxing in the Philippines with former local champions. Chris has help opened and became an owner and instructor of Berkeley Muay Thai & Fitness which was opened from 2014 to 2025. He has helped multiple up and coming fighters, amateur fighters, and champions. With all that knowledge, he is making his new home Team Bolo become successful for all no matter if you are there to compete or just make this into a workout and self defense hobbyist.

Marcos Chupin

Known as “Acapulco Gold”, Marcos has been training and competing since the age of 7 and started training with Chris at his old gym Berkeley Muay Thai & Fitness from training at True Fight Club in Hayward becoming the first Amateur Youth and Adult multiple time champion in Muay Thai along with being a multiple Gold Medalist for Team USA at the WBC International Muay Thai Tournaments that was held all over the world. Now a Professional fighter, he has been sharing his knowledge and teaching the new members and the up and coming fighters who is following in his footsteps. Marcos has put his old gym Berkeley Muay Thai on the map as being competitive but also helping Chris become a great coach.

Reuben has been training Muay Thai since the age of 15 at Berkeley Muay Thai & Fitness with Chris. When time for him to develop his skills in more of a competition style setting, Reuben has started to compete in multiple MDL events around the Bay Area. With enough MDL events under his belt, he started doing Amateur events and has competed multiple times. While being active, Reuben has been a youth coach at Berkeley Muay Thai till its closing. He is now teaching adults and will continue to help and mentor others. Reuben has also trained in Jiu Jitsu for many years as well.

Matthew has been training with Chris for a few years now starting at Berkeley Muay Thai & Fitness. He had a background in training Muay Thai back in the Philippines but has evolve when continuing his training here in the states with Chris. He has also did many MDL events in the Bay Area prompting him to compete in Amateurs. He has also competed at the USMTO tournament in Arizona in 2025. Along with Reuben, he was also helping out with the youth program back at Berkeley Muay Thai and is now teaching classes here at Team Bolo.

Matthew Vasquez

Kevin joined Berkeley Muay Thai & Fitness with Chris back in 2021 coming from training Boxing in El Cerrito. Since then Kevin has done numerous MDL events in the Bay Area and is now helping teach regular classes along with sparring classes. With Kevin’s experience not only with being really technical and simple when preparing for MDL events, his knowledge of understanding the art for him to get better and better has led him to be a vocal partner with sparring and teaching the new comers with being simple. He’s a great help in what is needed for Team Bolo.
